MAKE ROOM FOR YOUR VIDEO

Can I uncrop a video while keeping its original aspect ratio?

Yes, as a composition: keep the source ratio and reduce Source size to make room on every side. Start at 85% Source size to see the added room, then fine-tune the composition. AI uncropping creates new surroundings beyond the recorded frame.

THREE STEPS TO YOUR COMPOSITION

How to uncrop a video without changing its ratio

  1. 01

    Choose a tightly framed clip

Start with the horse example or upload your video. A supported source ratio is selected automatically so the composition can keep its original shape.

  2. 02

Preview a wider field of view

The example starts at 85% Source size. Move the slider to leave more or less room on all four sides; the checkerboard marks space that has not been generated.

  3. 03

    Describe the surrounding scene

Keep the prompt focused on existing scenery and lighting. Save the layout as a draft once the subject size and surrounding space feel right.

Zoom out a video with AI

Making a video smaller on a canvas creates empty space. AI uncropping aims to fill that space with a continuation of the scene, giving a close shot the appearance of a wider camera view. The original recording does not contain those new surroundings.

Same aspect ratio, more room around the subject

A 16:9 shot can remain 16:9, and a vertical shot can remain vertical. Start with modest expansion to make room for a layout or give a face or product more space. A larger border asks the model to invent more of the environment.

Uncropping cannot restore missing source pixels

If you still have the uncropped recording, use that file first. An AI-generated hand, logo or object outside the recorded boundary is an interpretation, not recovered evidence. For a different publishing format, choose a target ratio instead.
